DOLE-13 triumphs in labor inspection, bags 1st place at nat’l level

BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga emerged as the top performer in the nationwide implementation of the Labor Inspection Program for 2023, securing the first place in category C. The award was announced during the Labor Inspection Summit, a prestigious gathering that highlights excellence in labor standards enforcement across the country.

DOLE Caraga’s outstanding performance reflects its high compliance with the General Labor Standards (GLS) and Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS), along with impressive case disposition rates within the prescribed period of time (PCT).

The region was recognized for its effective and efficient enforcement, particularly in the execution and satisfaction of labor standards orders and resolutions, not just for the year 2023, but also for cases spanning from 2018 to 2022.

The recognition also highlighted DOLE Caraga’s strategic focus on priority sectors, as outlined in the Regional Strategic Compliance Plan. Its effective implementation of the Technical Assistance Visits (TAV) program, which ensures compliance with labor laws, further contributed to this remarkable achievement.

Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao accepted the award on behalf of the region, alongside the Mediator-Arbiter, Technical Services and Support Division (TSSD) Chief, Field Office Heads, and Labor Inspectors.

The award came with a prize of P2 million in program funds, which will further enhance DOLE Caraga’s initiatives to promote labor rights and ensure compliance across industries.

This recognition underscored DOLE Caraga’s commitment to ensuring fair and just labor practices in the region, setting a benchmark for labor standards enforcement nationwide. (DOLE-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
