DSWD evaluates KALAHI – CIDSS’ implementation in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY -- As a vital measure for efficient program implementation, the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga recently conducted its program implementation review (PIR) in Butuan City.

Attended by  the staff of the Regional Project Management Office (RPMO) and area coordinating teams (ACTs), the activity evaluated the performance of the KALAHI - CIDSS National Community-Driven Development Program (KC-NCDDP), including the best practices among the workers, and the recommendations for project improvement.

One of the highlights was the discussion on Panahon ng Pagkilos: Philippine Locally-Led Climate Action Project which caters to the areas with high poverty incidence, severe climatic hazards, and a significant proportion of the indigenous population. The project also aims to contribute in strengthening community resilience to climate risks and to empower communities to achieve locally-led climate resilience actions and participate in more adaptive shock-responsive local planning, budgeting, and implementation.

To recognize and celebrate the contributions of its staff, boost morale, encourage productivity, and foster a positive workplace culture, exceptional staff are awarded for their exemplary performance in delivering tasks that brought tangible results to the overall performance of the region in implementing KC programs.

KALAHI-CIDSS Deputy National Program Manager (DNPM) for Operations Rolando Villacorta Jr., together with Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes, and Assistant Regional Director for Administration  Tristan Telen, attended the event and personally handed the awards and recognitions.

“Congratulations KALAHI-CIDSS Caraga for always delivering exceptional performance. You are an inspiration to us in the National Office and to other regions.” Dir. Villacorta said in his inspirational message.

KALAHI - CIDSS is a program of the DSWD that embraces the community-driven Development (CDD) approach, where people are not mere beneficiaries but stakeholders who are actively integrated into decision-making, project development, implementation, and management. (DSWD-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
