DOH-13 recognizes Agusan Norte hospital as 1st PRC-accredited training provider

BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Health -  Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Caraga recognized Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital (ADNPH) as the first-ever Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)-accredited training provider with continuing professional development (CPD) units in the region on September 2 at Go Hotels, Robinsons Place, Butuan City.

The event was attended by key figures including Dr. Gina Bacol, head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) Department at ADNPH; Atty. Robellen-Ann G. Callanta, RN, legal officer of the PRC; Cheryll P. Elicano, CPA, PRC regional director; Dr. Odelio Y. Ferrer, provincial health officer II of Agusan del Norte; and Dr. Beverly B. Tero, provincial health officer I.

In his message, DOH-CHD Caraga Director Cesar C. Cassion emphasized the significance of this accreditation. “The turnover of this certificate marks a pivotal moment for our region. It will enhance our capabilities by reducing our reliance on external speakers and this enables us to cultivate local expertise. With this accreditation, healthcare professionals in our region can now access top-tier training without the need to travel outside the region for the  essential family planning programs offered by ADNPH,” he said.

“By equipping our healthcare professionals with the right tools and knowledge through accredited CPD programs, we ensure they are well-prepared to deliver vital family planning services and other essential healthcare needs to our communities,” Dir. Cassion added.

The DOH-CHD Caraga also expressed gratitude to USAID, a non-government organization, for its technical assistance, which played a significant role in ADNPH's achievement of the said accreditation. (DOH-CHD Caraga/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
