DAR-13 turns over vermiculture facility to coops in Agusan Sur
AGUSAN DEL SUR -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Agusan del Sur Provincial Office recently turned over a vermiculture facility to the Lingion Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (LARBA) Agricultural Cooperative (LACO), which marked a significant step in the cooperative's efforts to enhance sustainable agricultural practices through the Village Level Farm-focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) program.
Vermiculture, the process of breeding and cultivating earthworms to decompose organic waste, is a vital component in organic farming. The facility will enable LACO to produce high-quality organic fertilizers, boosting crop yields and improving the overall sustainability of farming operations in the area.
LACO Chairperson Ronald Aparis expressed his gratitude to DAR stating, "Dako kaayo akong pasalamat sa DAR sa pag-assist na maka-permit mi og matagaan mi niining project. Og wala ang DAR, wala sad mi niini nga project nga makatabang sa among panginabuhian (I am very grateful to DAR for assisting us in obtaining permits and providing us with this project. Without DAR, we would not have this project that will greatly help our livelihood).
