FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

Hinatuan town leads tourism excellence in Surigao Sur

HINATUAN, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- The town of Hinatuan was recognized as the top municipality in Surigao del Sur with the most Department of Tourism (DOT)-accredited tourism-related enterprises (TREs) and frontliners during the awarding ceremony on July 25.

Gemma S. Millan, municipal tourism officer and information officer designate, shared that each accredited TRE was also honored with a plaque of appreciation.

Additionally, tour guides received a Pasidungog pin from the DOT Caraga.

As of June 2024, the DOT-accredited TREs in Hinatuan include:

The officials of the local government of Hinatuan, through the Municipal Tourism Office, extended their utmost appreciation and gratitude to the TREs and tour guides for their compliance with the regulations set by the DOT. This recognition highlighted Hinatuan's commitment to promoting tourism excellence and enhancing visitor experiences.
