(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 19 July 2025) As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “CRISING” was located at 530 km east of Juban, Sorsogon (13.0°N, 128.9°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is moving west-northwest at 15 km/h. Tropical Depression Crising is currently affecting Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the rest of Mindanao. Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to TD Crising. Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rainfall. Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be moderate from the southwest to west, with moderate seas (wave height: 1.2 to 2.5 meters).

120 youth in Agusan Sur finish life skill training of JobStart PH

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- In a resounding success for youth empowerment, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga, in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office of Agusan del Sur, celebrated the graduation of 120 young individuals from the life skills training (LST) phase of the JobStart Philippines Program on July 5. 

The recognition was attended by DOLE Caraga Director Joffrey M. Suyao, together with DOLE Agusan del Sur Field Office Head Buhawe Corvera-Correa, Technical Support and Services Division (TSSD) Chief Annie Tangpos, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Agusan del Sur Senior Specialist Cherri Ann de Guzman, and other DOLE personnel.

In his message, Dir. Suyao emphasized the critical traits sought by employers namely, good behavior, right attitude, and solid values as these traits underscored that success hinges on dedication and hard work.

The newly graduated young individuals, consisting of out-of-school youth, fresh graduates, and young-at-risk individuals, underwent a 10-day training to help them develop and strengthen their personal values and skills that will enable them to deal with the demands of daily life and work.

Reflecting on their journey, two graduates, Jeremy Calinislinisan and Cathlyn Jean Fermil, shared heartfelt testimonials. They expressed gratitude for the DOLE's JobStart program in honing their workplace skills and preparing them for the demands of the labor market.

After the recognition, the graduates will undergo six months of technical training and internship, gaining hands-on experience in their respective fields of work, supported by strong partnerships with the local government unit and private sectors.

In her closing remarks, Tangpos highlighted the importance of life skills beyond technical know-how, citing teamwork, adaptability, and commitment as crucial assets for their career paths. She echoed Suyao's sentiment, affirming that this recognition day marks only the beginning—a launching pad for these graduates to thrive in the competitive world of work.

JobStart Philippines is DOLE's flagship initiative dedicated to enhancing youth employability through comprehensive training, internships, and employment facilitation.
