Job fair boosts employment in Tagbina
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- In a significant boost to local employment, the Department of Labor and Employment - Surigao del Sur Field Office (DOLE-SDSFO), in collaboration with the local government of Tagbina and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), recently conducted a job fair at the old terminal of Tagbina.
Demonstrating its
unwavering commitment to community betterment, 15 job seekers were immediately
out of 43 applicants, resulting in a 34.88 percent hired on-the-spot (HOTS)
placement rate. This outstanding accomplishment emphasized the critical role of
DOLE in promoting economic expansion and improving lives by providing
meaningful employment opportunities.
The event offered a wide variety of job openings from six local companies with a total of 263 job vacancies and one recruitment agency offering 100 job openings abroad. This collaborative effort addressed underemployment and unemployment in the area. All participating companies were keen to access the pool of talented and motivated applicants.
John Flor Ramas, SB member of Tagbina, expressed his gratitude to all the participants and organizers, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in fostering economic growth and providing livelihood opportunities for the residents.
“I would like to express my
deepest gratitude to the DOLE Surigao del Sur for their unwavering support in
facilitating this activity, as well as to those participating employers in
joining us here today. This is an opportunity for all of our applicants to
embark on new professional journeys and contribute to the growth and
development of our community,” Ramas said.
