Tagbina town pays tribute to community volunteers

TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur (PIA) – The local government unit (MLGU) of Tagbina, Surigao del Sur launched the Community Volunteers' Day 2.0 at the North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) gymnasium on June 4.
The event aimed to recognize the unwavering dedication of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) community volunteers (CVs) in the municipality.
Tagbina Municipal Mayor Glaiza Jane Polizon-Lanete led the activity with the theme, "PADAYON: Empowering Communities through Community-Driven Development (CDD)." The bolstered the Municipal Ordinance No. 6, series of 2024 as the legal premise for the KALAHI-CIDSS program and the institutionalization of the globally recognized strategy on community-driven development (CDD).
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga Director Mari-Flor Dollaga, who served as the guest of honor, recognized Tagbina's dedication to CDD and their outstanding achievements in implementing KALAHI-CIDSS. She praised the community's unwavering trust in the concerted strength and their commitment to working together for a better future.
"Truly, your recognition as a CDD champion and Best Implementing Local Government Unit is well-deserved. These accolades come from your unwavering belief in the concerted strength of your community, your ability to harness local wisdom, and your dedication to inclusive growth," Dir. Dollaga said.
The program's highlight was the signing of the CDD institutionalization ordinance by Municipal Mayor Glaiza Jane Polizon-Lanete, Vice Mayor Generoso L. Naraiso, and the Sangguniang Bayan members.
