(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Wednesday, 09 July 2025) The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Mindanao. FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

PSA turnovers Community-Based Monitoring System to Carrascal town

Carrascal, Surigao del Sur -- To strengthen evidence-based policy making and inclusive development planning, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Surigao del Sur conducted the data turnover of the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the local government unit (LGU) of Carrascal on May 23 at the Legislative Building, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.

The ceremonial activity served as culmination of the data collection, processing, review, and data validation conducted across 14 barangays of the municipality. 

Municipal Vice Mayor Jessie James T. Valle, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, punong barangays, department heads, and employees of the local government and national life agencies attended the ceremony.

The LGU through the leadership of Mayor Vicente H. Pimentel III expressed their gratitude to PSA -Surigao del Sur for spearheading the conduct of CBMS.
