Hemodialysis center opens in Bayugan City

AGUSAN DEL SUR -- In a momentous milestone for the community, the Bayugan Community Hospital Hemodialysis Center officially opened its doors, offering much-needed dialysis treatment to residents of Bayugan and its surrounding areas.

This development marked a significant step forward in local healthcare accessibility and underscores the commitment to enhancing medical services within the city.

With the center's opening, residents who require dialysis treatment no longer need to travel long distances or incur substantial expenses for their medical care. Despite currently operating with four dialysis machines, the facility is poised to substantially impact the lives of patients in need.

Expressing his joy and gratitude for the newfound accessibility of vital healthcare services, a local resident shared, "Grabe akong kalipay para sa atong mga igsuong Bayuganon nga nagkinahanglan ug dialysis treatment kay kini posible na gayud sa atong syudad. Upat pa lang atong machines pero kabalo ko dako na kaayo ning tabang arun dili na kamo mapalayo ug mugasto ug dako sa pag-panambal."

(I'm very happy for our fellow Bayuganons who need the dialysis treatment for this is now available in our city. We only have four machines for the time being, yet these will be of great help for those who need the treatment and they will no longer travel far and spend more just to get the treatment.)

The successful establishment of the center can be attributed to the invaluable support of various stakeholders, particularly the Department of Health - Health Facilities Enhancement Program (DOH - HFEP) under the leadership of Assistant Secretary Leonita P. Gorgolon.

Additionally, the continuous support from the BEST (Bayugan, Esperanza, Sibagat) ILHZ (Inter-Local Health Zone) has played a crucial role in realizing this vital healthcare initiative.

The mayor expressed his heartfelt appreciation, stating, "Daghan kaayong salamat! (Thank you so much) to all individuals and organizations whose dedication and collaboration have made the opening of the Bayugan Community Hospital Hemodialysis Center possible. This facility stands as a testament to the community's commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of its residents.”

The Bayugan Community Hospital Hemodialysis Center operates from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with one session available per day. This scheduling ensures that patients have convenient access to the necessary treatment during regular business hours. (LGU-Bayugan City/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
