DOLE personnel undergo capacity building

AGUSAN DEL SUR -- In an approach to strengthen and improve the office’s quality services, the Department of Labor and Employment - Agusan del Sur Field Office (DOLE-ADSFO) conducted a two-day DOLE Integrated Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) Capacity Building cum Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar on March 25-26, at Mabe’s Savory Place, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.

The event was participated by the DOLE-ADSFO personnel with keynote speakers from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Caraga.

To assess comprehension across various programs and services, each coordinator of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) and livelihood coordinator, determined the specific programs and entrusted  to them the crafting of presentations.

They took the stage and presented their reports on the first day of the event.

Oliver O. Salino, CHR Caraga’s training specialist II, highlighted in his lecture the need to advance and advocate for gender equality saying, “As an agency of the government that provides frontline programs and services, we should incorporate gender and development into our varied services. We should also be frontliners in promoting gender equality.”

Moreover, Sheamin Lae O. Dogmoc, information officer I of the CHR-Caraga, explained the basic concepts of GAD in her discussion. She pointed out that learning this will make us understand the complexity of GAD.

In a continued celebration of Women’s Month, the field office honored all women personnel by giving tributes and appreciation, especially to its woman leader,  Buhawe B. Corvera-Correa.

This event also encouraged the DOLE-ADSFO personnel to continue striving for excellence through continuous improvement and understanding of our programs, and imploring gender sensitivity to make our shared workspace conducive for both men and women to thrive. (DOLE-AgSur/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
