FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

Irrigation office collaborate with Surigao City to enhance irrigation system

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte (PIA)-- The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Caraga in partnership with the city government of Surigao vows to enhance and stabilize the irrigation system in the city. 

During his visit in Surigao City, Regional Director Ruby Tuan Jr., together with Mayor Paul Dumlao, discussed the plans and strategies on irrigation, including the establishment of a sustainable irrigation system within the city. 

The partnership primarily aimed to secure agricultural output, ensuring water stability, and nurturing sustainable urban advancement.  

Aside from improving agricultural yields and water resilience, both parties affirmed to optimize the irrigation infrastructure in Surigao City to ensure flood mitigation measures, heightening water resource efficiency, augmenting employment prospects in the agricultural sector, and allowing regional economic growth.
