DOT-13 awards Tandag City

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- The city government of Tandag through its City Tourism Office proudly received several prestigious awards from the Department of Tourism, during the Caraga Region Tourism Stakeholders' Summit, and Pasidungog 2023 Awarding Ceremony held at the Watergate Hotel Pavilion last February 16.

The city received the Commendation Award for Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) that highlighted its dedication to providing exceptional service to tourists.

Another notable accolade was the Commendation Award for the CAPDEV Program for fiscal year 2023 that recognized the city’s  innovative approach to tourism development.

City Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, City Councilors Rebecca N. Avila, and Gay Geraldine Giron-Tan, along with City Tourism Officer Florence U. Abis, Program Head on Heritage, Culture, and Arts Lamberto M. Plarisan and Tandag City Hotel and Restaurant Association (TACHARA) Representative Mary Bernadette Mojica joined the event and proudly received the said award.

According to Florence Abis, the office of the City Tourism also received a Plaque of Recognition for its vital contribution, support, commitment, and dedication to the Department of Tourism Caraga Region’s plan and programs that fostered tourism excellence and economic development.

Abis added that Best Tourism Statistics Focal was also awarded to Catherine Urbiztondo of the Tandag City Tourism Office on the same occasion.
