Buenavista disaster council acquires extrication tool

BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte – The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Buenavista, Agusan del Norte is now equipped with a brand new combi extrication tool, a versatile device that combines both spreading and cutting capabilities. This is a crucial tool for emergency responders allowing for a quick and safe extrication of persons trapped in a vehicular crash. 

Drivers and first responders led by Eleazar Sabandal, department head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, were given basic lectures and hands-on use to familiarize themselves with its functions and features of the battery-powered tool. 

The demo was led by Eugene Loyola, a retired firefighter and currently an instructor at the National Fire Training Institute of the Philippine Public Safety College. He highlighted the immense value of continuous training and the utilization of advanced tools in rescue operations. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration, skill, and innovation in saving lives during emergencies. (LGU- Buenavista/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
