DOLE-13 secures major laurels at the 2023 Kabuhayan Awards

BUTUAN CITY -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga won two major awards in the 2023 Kabuhayan Awards held last November 14, 2023 at the Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay, ParaƱaque. 

The Del Pilar Makugihon Fishing Association (DELPIMAFISA) from Brgy. Del Pilar, Soccoro, Surigao del Norte clinched two prestigious awards, namely: Best DOLE- Assisted Livelihood Project and Best Video Documentation for the DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Project, for showing not only grit and perseverance, but also for extending their hand to the people affected by Super Typhoon Odette, that brought devastation to some areas in the region last 2021. 

Josel Ann E. Dua, DOLE Surigao del Sur DILEEP focal was also awarded as the Best Regional Performing Field Office Focal for DILP and TUPAD program. Moreover, DOLE Caraga was recognized through a special plaque for its exemplary implementation of the DILEEP program. 

The yearly award was attended by DOLE Caraga Regional Director, Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao and OIC Assistant Regional Director Raymond Fel F. Sajor, together with key officials of DOLE Surigao del Norte and Agusan del Norte Field Offices. Also present was the President of DELPIMAFISA Jiesel L. Palen, Ivy Cristy Flores as the individual livelihood winner, and Socorro PESO Manager Dante P. Dizon. 

DOLE-SDNFO head May Velonta, extended her appreciation to the municipality of Socorro for their support and collaborative efforts toward the success of the DOLE programs implemented in the municipality. 

Moreover, DOLE Caraga Regional Director Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao commended the people behind the success of the event. He emphasized that the essence of this award did not only deliver recognition to the outstanding implementation of DOLE’s programs, but it also served as a commitment to provide high-quality service to the people and ensure the sustainability of livelihood programs. 

The annual DOLE Kabuhayan Awards recognizes exemplary beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and DOLE partners and regional implementers for their significant efforts in the implementation of the DILP and the TUPAD Program. (BLM, LEO III, DOLE-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
