PMO Surigao facilitates safe return of Siargao-bound MSU students

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The Port Police Operatives of the Port Management Office (PMO) in Surigao ensured the safe embarkation of 18 students from Mindanao State University (MSU) – main campus in Marawi City who wished to go home in the islands this Christmas after experiencing a tragic event on Dec. 3.

A tragedy struck the school campus in Marawi City during a Sunday worship mass at the Dimaporo gymnasium when a bombing incident claimed the lives of four individuals and left 50 injured. Responding to this unfortunate event, the students, now repatriated, embarked on a poignant journey back to their homes in the islands this holiday season.

The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines and various local government units facilitated the repatriation efforts.

Meanwhile, Montenegro Shipping Lines Inc. (MSLI) graciously provided free passage on board MV Reina Veronica for the MSU students, while PMO Surigao ensured they were equipped with food packs prior to their journey. (PPA-PMO Surigao/PIA- Surigao del Norte)
