Youth in Jabonga join leadership summit

DEL PILAR, Cabadbaran City -- A triumphant culmination marked the end of a dynamic three-day Youth Leadership Summit recently held at the municipal gymnasium, Barangay Poblacion, Jabonga.

The success of the three-day Youth Leadership Summit participated by 47 aspiring leaders from various barangays in the municipality of Jabonga was further amplified by the unwavering support of the local government unit. Their full commitment and active involvement played a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and prosperous conduct of the activity.

The YLS aimed to empower young minds, providing them with invaluable tools to become influential leaders in their communities. With a firm commitment to creating a peaceful and prosperous environment, the summit also focused on preventing the recruitment efforts of groups like the communist-new people’s army -terrorists (CNTs), ensuring that the youth remain on positive avenues for personal and community growth.

Throughout the summit, participants enthusiastically engaged in dynamic workshops, inspiring seminars, and hands-on activities tailored to enhance their leadership capabilities and entrepreneurial acumen. By equipping them with essential skills, the YLS not only fortified the participants' self-confidence but also encouraged them to explore entrepreneurial and leadership opportunities, fostering economic development within their communities.

Mao kana ang isa ka lider (A leader must be good at his constituents, be able to respect others and good at listening to the problems of others, a true leader will not allow others to fight, will not agree that his community will be messed up.  That's what a leader is).”

Maong naa mo diri karon aron ma develop ang inyong leadership skills para mamahimong kapakipakinabang kamo sa matag-usa ninyo nga barangay (According to Jose Rizal, the youth is the hope of the nation. Those of you who are front of me now are the hope of our country. You are here today to develop your leadership skills so that you can be valuable members of your respective barangays).” (29th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
