DOLE-13 turns over P1M livelihood assistance to drivers’ org, releases salaries to over 800 vulnerable workers
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga headed by Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao, CESO III, released a check for P1 million as livelihood assistance to the local government unit of Tagbina, as the proponent and co-partner of the approved livelihood project of Tagbina Motor Drivers’ Association on December 06.
The livelihood assistance included the members' accident insurance coverage for a year.
On the same day, the DOLE - Surigao del Sur provincial office headed by Genebelle B. Bal facilitated the onsite release of salaries to Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD) through the use of Palawan reference codes to the beneficiaries from Barobo and Tagbina towns, of this province.
DOLE revealed that Barobo has 494 beneficiaries, while Tagbina has 334, who each received the salary amounting to P3,500 in Palawan money remittance centers.
The said activities were in line with the DOLE's 90th Founding Anniversary, as attended by Governor Alexander T. Pimentel. (NGPB, PIA-Surigao del Sur)
