(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Sunday, 07 December 2025) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "WILMA" was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Matuguinao, Samar (12.2°N 125.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

Over 200 drivers join seminar on road safety in Surigao City

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The local government unit of Surigao City recently conducted a Road Traffic Safety Seminar to owners and drivers of tricycle, public utility vehicle (PUV), Bao-bao, and private vehicle in Surigao City. 

A total of 214 drivers participated in the seminar to instill and remind the participants on their role and responsibility on road safety, at all times.

The said seminar covered a wide range of topics, including road traffic safety, values and ethics, Anti-Bastos Law, Ordinance No. 300, series of 2010, traffic law enforcement, spiritual enhancement, and Republic Act No. 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.

Surigao City Traffic Management Office head, PCPT Robert M. Paredes discussed the importance of the seminar to the audience.

He emphasized that the seminar aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to navigate the city's roads safely and efficiently, and takeaways that include route planning to avoid traffic congestion, timing travel during non-peak hours, staying informed about the latest traffic reports, using alternative routes to avoid aggressive driving, signaling lane changes and turns, and maintaining patience during daily commutes. 

Paredes further emphasized the importance of safe driving practices to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries on the road, including the mandatory use of helmets and other safety equipment.
