Nutrition council conducts forum to strengthen grassroots implementation
AGUSAN DEL SUR -- In an exceptional confluence of dedication and collective vision, the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023-2028 cum Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) 2023-2028 Dissemination Forum unfolded as an extraordinary symphony of commitment towards a healthier, fortified tomorrow.
With the presence of Governor Santiago Cane Jr. of Agusan del Sur and Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell Amante of Agusan del Norte, the forum reached a pinnacle moment with the ceremonial signing and unveiling of the illustrious PPAN Logo.
Spearheaded by Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, Dr. NiΓ±o Archie Labardo, the event resonated with the fervor of shared responsibility and determination.
The event is a remarkable convergence of luminaries including the unwavering support and encouragement from Congressional Representatives Jose Aquino II and Dale Corvera of Districts 1 and 2 of Agusan del Norte, and Congressional Representatives Adolph Edward Plaza and Alfelito Bascug of Districts 1 and 2 of Agusan del Sur.
Notably, the resounding commitment of Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada of Butuan City, also a chairperson of the Nutrition Committee, further fortified the resolve towards nutritional excellence.
The afternoon session illuminated the discourse as a panel discussion unfolded, featuring the profound insights of Atty. Grace Carmel Paredes-Bravo, Mayor of San Francisco and chairperson of the Municipal Nutrition Committee; Gemma Tabada, president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) and chairperson of the Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC); Pinky Adesas-Casamayor, 2021 national outstanding CNPC of Bayugan City; Belen Ostrosos, MNAO of Santiago, Agusan del Norte; and Sheilla Havana, 2022 regional outstanding barangay nutrition scholar (BNS) of Loreto, Agusan del Sur. Their perspectives echoed the ethos of collaboration and innovation for a nourished society.
Highlighting the essence of practical localization, the session on "Sharing of Good Practices for the PPAN Localization" was a masterclass led by Laniebelle Angchangco, PNAO of Agusan del Sur. Her insights, honed through experience, provided a roadmap for effective execution and grassroots empowerment.
