It is moving Westward slowly. Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands and Camiguin Island will have rains with gusty winds due to TD Wilma. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains with at times intense rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds. While the rest Northern Mindanao, the rest of Caraga, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TD Wilma. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will have Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Moderate to Strong winds from Northeast to Northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.5 to 2.8 meters). Elsewhere, moderate to strong winds from the Northwest to Southwest with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters). Agrarian reform officials extend support to farmer beneficiaries in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY -- As part of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III’s agenda to bring the government closer to the people, three undersecretaries of DAR visited Caraga region to extend support to the farmer beneficiaries.

Field Operations Office (FOO) Undersecretary Atty. Kazel Celeste; Office for Mindanao Affairs (OMA) Undersecretary Amihilda Sangcopan; and new Support Services Office (SSO) Undersecretary Rowena Niña Taduran were warmly welcomed by Regional Director Atty. Merlita S. Capinpuyan on Thursday.

The undersecretaries made a visit and met the farmers of the Avanceña Multi-purpose Cooperative in, as an accredited Learning Site for Agriculture under the Farm Business School Program of the SSO. The accreditation is provided by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI). 

Being an accredited LSA empowered the farmer beneficiaries to become competent trainers and multipliers of best farming practices to increase and promote agricultural production in the country.

Speaking on behalf of Avanceña Multi-purpose Cooperative, chairperson Frankie Mijares Jr., expressed gratitude and well wishes to the esteemed leaders of the agency.

“Avanceña ARBs will never forget the help and positive impact of the DAR projects to our organization and to the lives of the members,” Mijares said.

Usec. Taduran, also conveyed back her glee and pride toward the farmer’s group, as they sustained their efforts as a well-performing agrarian reform beneficiary organization (ARBO) in Agusan del Norte. “DAR will continue to provide as much support services as they can to the full extent of its mandate,” Taduran added.
