Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds. Northern Mindanao and the rest of Caraga will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TS “Ada”. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. The eastern section of Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds from west to southwest with moderate to rough seas (2.1 to 3.4 meters). The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from northeast to northwest with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters). At 3:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm "ADA" {NOKAEN} was estimated based on all available data at 270 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (12.1°N, 127.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. It is moving Northwestward at 20 km/h. Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

IPMRs take oath in Las Nieves, AgNor

LAS NIEVES, Agusan del Norte -- Hawudon Armando Una, on his second term as municipal Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR), and Manigaon Mario A. Una, barangay IPMR of Marcos, Calo, in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte, took their oath before Mayor Karen S. Rosales on September 4, 2023 at Las Nieves Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall.

Both IPMRs from the Manobo IP communities  committed to serve the indigenous cultural community as the voice of the people in the local legislative council and policy making bodies.

Hawudon Armando Una was hailed as one of the 2022 Most Outstanding IPMRs in Agusan del Norte even when he has only served more than one year in office. It was during his term when the NCIP Las Nieves Satellite Office was established. 

Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Myrna Libao expressed her support to the ICCs/IPs of Las Nieves. She reminded that as IPMRs they are now officially public servants of the government. She announced that funding will be allocated in support of the upcoming IP celebration on October this year.

The Certificates of Affirmation were turned over to the IPMRs by Atty. Fritzie Lynne Sumando, regional legal officer, together with Atty. Keith Galvez, regional IPMR focal person and Janiecel Tagnoay, officer-in-charge of Las Nieves Satellite Office.

Also present during the ceremonial oath-taking were the Manobo indigenous political structure namely, incumbent barangay IPMRs of Las Nieves Agusan del Norte, and Sangguniang Bayan members headed by Vice Mayor Virgilio Escasina Jr. (PIO Las Nieves/PIA Agusan del Norte)
