(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Thursday, 06 November 2025) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Typhoon "TINO" {KALMAEGI} was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Taytay, Palawan (11.1°N, 119.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 165 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Light to Moderate rains are expected over #TawiTawi(TurtleIslands), #ZamboangaDelNorte, #ZamboangaSibugay(Payao, Imelda and Malangas) within the next 2-3 hours. Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are being experienced in #TawiTawi(Mapun), #Sulu(Pangutaran), #ZamboangaSibugay(Alicia, Mabuhay, Talusan and Olutanga) which may persist within 2-3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

DA turns over agri-machinery to farmers' group in SurSur

The Department of Agriculture (DA) - Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (Philmech), in collaboration with the local government of Cantilan, Surigao del Sur successfully handed over agricultural machinery to the Cabas-an Farmers Irrigators' Association on September 7, 2023.

According to the local government unit of Cantilan, the delivered machinery include a  unit of rice combine harvester, a unit hand tractor, and another unit of mechanical rice transplanter, with fundeding from the Department of Agriculture (DA), under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) - Mechanization Program.

Mayor Philip A. Pichay expressed his great gratitude during the ceremonial turnover and pointed out that the equipment received will help boost the local farmers' income, yield, and ability to compete globally through access and use of appropriate mechanization technologies from planting to post-harvest.

In attendance during the ceremonial activity were DA - Philmech Regional Field Coordinator Engr. Jingle T. Paloma, Municipal Agriculturist Ceasar Q. Blanco, SB member Romeo Emmanuel D. Azarcon and Punong Barangay of Cabas-an Regelio G. Trazares. (LGU-Cantilan/NGPB, PIA-Surigao del Sur)
