(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Tuesday, 09 December 2025) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "WILMA" was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Matuguinao, Samar (12.2°N 125.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

300 enthusiasts joined the Run for Resilience in Sursur

CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sur -- The municipality of Carrascal, Surigao del Sur headed by local chief executive Vicente H. Pimentel III, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office successfully culminated the National Disaster Resilience Month on July 30, 2023 in Carrascal town.

The culmination featured the Run For Resilience  which was participated by almost 300 individuals all over Surigao del Sur at Carrascal Baywalk covered Court.

The opening program which was attended by the Municipal Vice Mayor Jessie James T. Valle, together with the members of uniformed personnel from Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Carrascal Municipal Police Station.

The activity promoted awareness on disaster management and physical fitness and healthier and more active lifestyle.

During the activity, certificate of commendations were also awarded to all mining Emergency Response Team (ERT) for their contribution and active participation in the various events during the town's Pahinungod Festival.
 
The MDRRMO chief Christine Marie Arreza extended gratitude to all the companies that served as their partners in undertaking such responsibilities such as the Carrascal Nickel Corporation, C.T.P. Construction and Mining Corporation, Kafugan Mining Inc., Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC), and Strong Group Mining Corporation (SGMC).
