Resiliency program provides assistance to vulnerable individuals in Carrascal

CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sir - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in partnership with the provincial government of Surigao del Sur headed by Governor Alexander T. Pimentel, and the local government unit of Carrascal led by Mayor Vicente H. Pimentel III, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development  Office (MSWDO) conducted the Risk Resiliency Program-Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM) payout to the beneficiaries in the municipality of Carrascal on June 29, 2023 in Carrascal town of this province. 

A total of 900 beneficiaries completed the ten days of cash-for-work, as confirmed by the MSWDO.

During the said event, Governor Alexander T. Pimentel delivered his message to all beneficiaries about the importance of the program. He also emphasized the efforts made through the partnership with Mayor VJ Pimentel to sustain their initiative.

Meanwhile, RRP-CCAM aims to reinforce the adaptive capacities of vulnerable groups and communities in the municipality through the cash–for-work initiative purposely designed for disaster prevention and climate change mitigation. (LGU-Carrascal/NGPB, PIA-Surigaso del Sur)
