FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

SurSur supports new top cop

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Surigao del Sur has a new provincial director to lead the Police Provincial Office (PPO) during the Change of Command on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Camp Vicente L. Pimentel Sr., in Tandag City, as administered by Police Regional Office 13 (RPO-13) Regional Director Police BGen. Pablo G Labra II.

Police Colonel Harry Domingo has assumed the position to replace Police Colonel Dennis Siruno, who served the province for less than a year or 11 months, as he assumed duty in August of the previous year. On the other hand, Col. Domingo’s was the force commander of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13.

During the activity, the Relief and Designation Orders were officially delivered by PLt. Colonel Patrick D. Lumba, PRO-13 acting head of the Regional Personnel Records Management Division (RPRMD).

In his message, Col Domingo expressed his profound gratitude to PBGen. Labra for his faith and confidencen that he will lead the Police Provincial Office of Surigao del Sur.

“To the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 13 PBGen. Pablo G Labra II, to Provincial Governor of Surigao del Sur Alexander T Pimentel, local government units of Surigao del Sur and to the men and women in uniform of SDSPPO, thank you for your immeasurable trust," Col. Domingo said.

Col. Domingo added, “I am asking for your full support and cooperation in our united goal of preserving peace and order.”

Meanwhile, First District Representative Engr. Romeo S. Momo Sr., ably represented by Ruel D Momo, 1st District board member, chiefs of police from the city/municipal police stations; force commander of Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and members of Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) were also in attendance.
