RDC to unveil Caraga dev’t plan 

The Caraga Regional Development Council (RDC) will officially present the Caraga Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 in a regional launch on August 9, 2023 at the LMX Convention Center in Butuan City. The said event will be participated by various partners and stakeholders from all levels of government, private sector, non-government organizations, the academe, media, and the youth.

The event shall highlight the key features of the plan, particularly the region’s new overarching development strategy, to Industrialize and Innovate Fishery, Agro-forestry, Mining and Ecotourism (i2FAME), to contribute to the attainment of the country’s long-term vision of a “Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Buhay Para sa Lahat,” by laying down the foundation for sustained economic transformation, recovery, and creation of green and decent jobs at the regional level.

As champion of the Caraga RDP 2023-2028, RDC Chairperson and Province of Dinagat Islands. Representatives from various sectors shall then express their support towards the attainment of the region’s goals, objectives, and strategic directions as enshrined in the RDP.

Toward the end of the event, participants will be guided by designated lead agency and RDP chapter writers through a “Gallery Walk,” which will showcase the Caraga RDP 2023-2028 chapters and the i2FAME strategy. The said gallery walk will end at the wall of commitment where the messages of support from partners and stakeholders will be displayed for posterity.

With the assistance of the Philippine Information Agency - Caraga, the regional launch will be simultaneously aired via Zoom and streamed via Facebook Live. A media booth will be provided for media partners to conduct interviews and produce advocacy materials for their respective platforms.

Advocacy kits containing information on the said plan shall be distributed to participants for their subsequent dissemination to their respective clients and stakeholders. Advocacy materials shall also be posted on NEDA Regional Office Caraga and Philippine Information Agency Caraga’s Facebook accounts. 

The Caraga RDP 2023-2028 was approved through RDC Resolution No. 03-A, S. 2023 during the Joint Caraga RDC Full Council-Advisory Committee Meeting on 15 March 2023. (RMCM, NEDA Caraga/RLE, PIA Caraga)
