AgSur police receives commendation on peaceful Naligayagan Festival

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- In consonance with this year’s observance of Caraga’s foremost Naliyagan Festival, the police force of Agusan del Sur headed by Police Colonel Jovito Canlapan, provincial director, intensified the campaign against criminality and insurgency that resulted to 30 overall accomplishments covering the period from June 12 to 18, 2023. 

The relentless efforts of the 14 police stations, two provincial mobile force companies (PMFCs) and the Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ADS PIU) yielded to four drug personalities arrested; one individual arrested for illegal gambling; three successful registration of firearms through License To Own and Possess Firearm (LTOPF), while three firearms were successfully surrendered; one Most Wanted Person and three Other Wanted Persons were put behind bars, and two successful implementation of Service of Warrant of Arrest.

Further, there are four successful operations in Illegal logging, eight in Illegal fishing and one arrested CTG. All arrested persons were placed under police custody while charges against them are being prepared for filing in court.

“I highly commend all the personnel for the notable accomplishment which is tantamount to showcasing our effectivity in apprehending lawbreaking elements and to maintain the peace and order of the province during the course of the celebration of the Naliyagan Festival. Keep up the good work,” PD Canlapan said.
