FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

Tandag City retains 3 drug-cleared barangays, 4 more as drug-free 

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROC-BDC) presided by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Caraga Regional Director Charlene Magdurulang approved the application of the seven barangays of Tandag City as drug-free and drug-cleared during the 32nd ROC-BDC deliberation on June 8, at the Uptown Corporate Hotel, Mabua, Tandag City.

The deliberation declared barangays Maticdum, San Antonio, Pangi, and San Jose as drug-free, while the barangays Bongtud, Bag-ong Lungsod, and Mabua retained their drug-cleared status.

It was attended by Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, CLGOO Olivia Bagasbas, legal officer and Administrator Atty. Janissa Delicona, CADAC focal person Ephraim Toral, and the seven punong barangays of Tandag City.

As of June 8, there are four drug-free barangays, and seventeen drug-cleared to complete the 21 barangays of Tandag City.

The city government of Tandag led by Mayor Pimentel urged the public to continue being vigilant and keep the determination to maintain a drug-free Tandag City.

“We must remain steadfast in our efforts to prevent the resurgence of illegal drugs, and keep our community secure and prosperous for the next generations,” the mayor said. (LGU-Tandag City/NGPB, PIA-Surigao del Sur)
