(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Sunday, 28 May 2023) At 3:00 AM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "BETTY" {MAWAR} was estimated based on all available data at 825 km East of Northern Luzon (17.1°N, 129.5°E), with maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 215 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 20 km/h. Southwesterly Windflow affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Trough of TY BETTY / Southwesterly Windflow. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to Strong winds coming from West to Southwest will prevail with Moderate to Rough seas / (2.5 to 5.0 meters).

DOT trains LGU, tourism frontliners in Bislig

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The local government unit of Bislig City headed by Mayor Florencio C. Garay through the City Information Office (CIO) - City Tourism Division hosted a seminar on Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) facilitated by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Caraga headed by Regional Director Ivonnie B. Dumadag on May 8, 2023, at Highland Function Farm and Restaurant, Mangagoy, Bislig City.

The DOT FBSE trainer, and the resource speaker, Leticia DC. Tan, discussed how to provide excellent customer service and quality service from the heart. 

The training is in line with the reopening of Bislig City Airport on May 18, 2023, which will connect travelers from various places to arrive in one common destination, the City of Bislig.

The LGU is expecting an influx of tourists and guests, thus this training preparation.

Attendees were the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Bislig City headed by Lendon Dean Nacario II - OIC; City Councilors Reynaldo V. Dominguez chairman of Tourism Development and Jenny Myrr V. Chicano vice chair on Tourism Development; tourism related establishments (TREs); LGU  key personnel as front liners, Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel; academe; and proprietors of  accommodations, resorts and food establishments.
