CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sur – The Rapid Growth Project Key Informant Interview (KII) spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) was conducted in the different identified barangays in Carrascal town on March 30, 2023.

The program is a P4.7 billion value-chain-based and market-driven business development initiative that aims to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic development for rural farming communities which is focused on engaging coconut farmers on diversified farming and other related commodities as part of their farming cultivation activities.

Accordingly, the town of Carrascal is considered the control area of the project, together with the municipalities of Cantilan and Madrid.

In phase 2, the team is looking forward to the inclusion of Carrascal in fund allocation relative to this program to benefit the farmers and establish a market linkage among clustered associations in the province and the whole region as well. (NGPB/Carrascal FITS Center/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
