Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds. Northern Mindanao and the rest of Caraga will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TS “Ada”. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. The eastern section of Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds from west to southwest with moderate to rough seas (2.1 to 3.4 meters). The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from northeast to northwest with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters). At 3:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm "ADA" {NOKAEN} was estimated based on all available data at 270 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (12.1°N, 127.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. It is moving Northwestward at 20 km/h. Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

DOLE turns over llivelihood assistance to fisherfolk association in Cagdianao town

SAN JOSE, Dinagat Islands -- The Department of Labor and Employment of Dinagat Islands Satellite Office (DOLE PDISO) successfully turned over the Kabuhayan Restoration Project as livelihood assistance to San Jose Farmers and Fisherfolk Association (SJFFA) of Cagdianao town in the province of Dinagat Islands. 

The livelihood assistance worth P433,630 which includes deep-sea fishing tools and equipment like boats and nets, purposely to restore the deep-sea fishing livelihood of the said association and to give the local fishing community a sustainable source of income to aid in their recovery from the adverse effects of super typhoon Odette. 

The turnover is a significant milestone for the members of SJFFA as it will enable them to increase their productivity and improve their income.

DOLE PDISO OIC-PO Head Tangpos shared his hopes for the association’s restoration in his message, “Ang tanan natong naagihan ug pag-agihan pa is usa ka gasa. Kay ang tanan natong gibuhat daghan ang makapahimolos ug maka-ambit sa mga gasa sa abot sa inyong asosasyon. Ako manghinaot nga kining proyektoha nga usa ka restoration project, kay giguba man ang una ninyo proyekto sa bagyong Odette, tarungon ninyo pagdala, aron sa umaabot mohatag kini ug dugang income sa inyong tagsa-tagsa nga pamilya ug ampingi ninyo ang mga proyekto sa goberno kay kining mga proyektoha is naga-gikan kini sa buhis sa mga katawhan; ilang dugo, kusog ug kalag ang puhunan niining tanan.”

On his part, Municipal Administrator Adolfo E. Longos, reminded the local government, the associations, and the residents of barangay San Jose to be grateful, “Magpasalamat gajud kita pirme sa DOLE kay wala jud kita nila pasagdi, sa makadaghang higayon kita nakadawat ug mga ayuda gikan sa ilang ahensya. Busa kita magpasalamat ug dako kay anaa sila pirme andam motabang ug mo serbisyo sa mga katawhan sa lungosod sa Cagdianao.”

Meanwhile, the president of the association, Antonio Petallar, expressed his gratitude to DOLE “Ako, in behalf sa akong mga kauban sa association, grabe ang dakong pagpasalamat sa DOLE kay wala kami ninyo pasagdi. Bisan kami na igo sa bagyo grabe ka paspas ang tabang nga among nadawat gikan sa DOLE ug sa lokal nga panggamhanan.” The association vowed to take care of the equipment and tools provided to them and to work hard to ensure the success of the livelihood project."
