(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Sunday, 07 December 2025) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "WILMA" was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Matuguinao, Samar (12.2°N 125.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 75 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Shear Line affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. Northeast Monsoon affecting the rest of Luzon. Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from northeast to northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 meters). Elsewhere, moderate winds from the northwest to southwest to southeast with moderate seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters).

DSWD turns over livelihood programs to 7 associations, coop in Tandag City

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Tandag City successfully turned over various livelihood projects to seven (7) associations and cooperatives  on March 6, 2023.

The said project is funded tby the DSWD through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

The recipients of the said projects are ias follows: 

 

  1. PAMANA ng Awasian SLP Association: Rice Trading
  2. PAMANA ng Kababaihan sa Maitom: Rice Trading
  3. Pandanon PAMANA Association: Tables & Chairs, Tents, and Sound System
  4. Mabuhay PAMANA Livelihood Association: Agricultural Supply
  5. Maticdum Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative: Farm Inputs and Agrivet Supply
  6. CAG-INID United SLP Association: Establishment of Wet Market
  7. PAMANA ng San Isidro Association: Rice Trading

The turnover ceremony was attended by City Administrator Atty. Janissa P. Delicona on behalf of Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, SLP Provincial Coordinator Monina A. Tanjay, 2nd LT Dexter Tupran of the 36th IB, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (SWDO) representative, City SWDO chief Tessie Buniel, and a representative from City Agriculturist Office. 

The SLP bridges the gap between the people and the government through  its provision of  support to marginalized communities by distributing livelihood projects that can help families sustain their needs. Through this program, communities are empowered and capacitated to become self-sufficient, with end goal of achieving financial independence. (NGPB/LGU-Tandag City/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
