1501CDC leads 4-day OERA training in Butuan

BUTUAN CITY -- The 1501st Community Defense Center (1501CDC) of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army concluded the four-day Explosive Ordnance Reconnaissance Agent (OERA) Training Class 04-2023 through a closing ceremony to three Reservist Officers, 39 Enlisted Reservist from 1501st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (1501RRIBn), and three personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Police Office-13.

 

This event is in collaboration with the 2nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Platoon headed by its team leader, Sergeant (Sgt) Joel Samarita (Ordnance Service) Philippine Army on February 4, 2023 at the 1501CDC Multipurpose Hall, Bancasi, Butuan City. 

 

The EORA Training capacitates the participants with knowledge and skill on how to provide accurate reporting and reconnaissance activities on unexploded ordnance and to provide information and coordination to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel for the conduct of effective disposal operations. 

 

Also, this is to train the particpants on how to investigate, locate, mark, initial detection and reporting of suspected unexploded ordnance. 

 

Colonel (Col) Jonathan Obena, the Group Commander of 15th Regional Community Defense Group (15RCDG), served as the keynote speaker during the ceremony and congratulated the participants for hurdling the said training. 

 

"You will be the force multiplier of our EOD personnel in case there are suspected Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) found anywhere, and your skill will boost your unit capability on detecting, preserving and reporting such IEDs," Col Obena said.
