PMO Surigao recognizes honest security screeners

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The Port Management Office of Surigao (PMO Surigao) officially recognized and provided monetary incentives to two security screeners for honesty and integrity at work.

In simple a ceremony held recently at the PMO Surigao Administration Building, Security Screeners John Rey Yap and Christopher Montera each received a Certificate of Commendation and cash  incentive from PMO Acting Port Manager Froilan Caturla.

It may be recalled that for the second time around, Security Screener John Rey Yap found and returned to the owner of a sling bag containing around P11,590.00 cash  and identification cards left behind at the port’s Baggage x-ray machine while on duty at the Port of Surigao's Passenger Terminal Building security inspection in the afternoon of January 2,  2023.

Barely six months ago, on July 3, 2022, Yap successfully returned to the owner the amount of P80,000 in cold cash contained inside a bag left behind in the baggage x-ray machine conveyor at the Port of Surigao Passenger Terminal Building.

On the other hand, Security Screener Christopher Montera successfully returned to the owner the cash amounting to P200,000  contained inside a bag left behind in the baggage x-ray machine conveyor in the morning of July 1,  2022 at the same site. (PPA-PMO Surigao/PIA- Surigao del Norte)
