CTG member voluntarily surrenders to San Miguel MPS

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- With the intensified campaign against insurgency and terrorism, a member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the Municipal Police Station (MPS) of San Miguel, Surigao del Sur on January 14, 2022.

Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO) Provincial chief Director Police Colonel Dennis Siruno identified the surrenderee as a.k.a. Jerome, 30 years old, male, married, and a resident of Sitio Tubacon, Barangay Bitaugan, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.

Based on the report, also known as Jerome was a former squad leader of Guerilla Front 30 Platoon 1.

Jerome surrendered along with him were a one Smith and Wesson 9mm revolver without ammunition and one set of riffle grenade (GOE) with Bul- trap.


Police Colonel Siruno lauded the efforts of the operatives in doing their duties and responsibilities on the ground.

“With this significant accomplishment, I commend the efforts of the operatives who played a vital role in encouraging the CTG member to return to the fold of the law”, Police Colonel Siruno said.

The official added, “Once again, I am appealing to the  remaining rebels to lay down their arms and surrender to authorities.” (NGPB/SDS-PPO/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
