2 former rebels add up to the increasing number of CTG surrenders

BUTUAN CITY -- Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 Director, PBGen Pablo G Labra II, reported the surrender of two more members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) on Wednesday, January 4, adding to the increasing list of Communist Terrorists Group (CTG) who  surrendered in the region.

The new CTG surrenderers were identified as alias Jan, member of Guerilla Front 16A, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee, 24 years old, resident of Lianga, Surigao del Sur and alias Sam, NPA in the Barrio (Militia ng Bayan), 22 years old, a resident of Nasipit, Agusan del Norte with an improvised shotgun. 

Alias Jan was listed in the Periodic Status Report (PSR) in the 4th Quarter of 2020. His surrender was due to the joint efforts of the Lianga Municipal Police Station (MPS), 9th SF Battalion, Philippine Army and Local Chief Executive Novelita M. Sarmen.

Meanwhile, the surrender of alias Sam is a positive result of the continuous efforts of the Nasipit MPS and the barangay officials of Camagong in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.

PNP Caraga welcomes the surrender of these two former rebels. They both made good decisions at the beginning of the year and we truly hope that they will be able to re-integrate into the community, live peacefully and have meaningful lives with their families,” said RD LABRA II.
