Placer operatives serve no-bail arrest warrant to drug suspect detained in Surigao City

BUTUAN CITY -- The Placer Municipal Police Station on Tuesday (January 17) served an additional arrest warrant against a detained drug suspect  in Surigao City Jail.

Placer operatives served Wilfredo Pipon Legad from Barangay Ipil, Placer town an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 charging Legad for violating Section 5 under Article II of the Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002docketed under criminal case number 12394 dated January 5, 2023 with no recommended bail bond.

Based on the report, the 32-year-old was previously arrested in a drug operation in 2016. However, after availing of the plea bargain agreement, Legad failed to appear in court appearances, forcing the court to order his no-bail arrest warrant.

Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office director Laudemer M. Laude reiterated the local police force’s campaign against illegal drugs.

"The Philippine National Police Surigao del Norte will continue its all-out campaign against illegal drugs as long as there are criminals who violate and mock the government's anti-drug laws,” said the police official. (Pat Maple Jean A. Sabandal, SDNPPO/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
