It is moving Westward slowly. Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands and Camiguin Island will have rains with gusty winds due to TD Wilma. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains with at times intense rains. Minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds. While the rest Northern Mindanao, the rest of Caraga, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to TD Wilma. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. The rest of Mindanao will have Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Moderate to Strong winds from Northeast to Northwest will prevail over the western sections of Mindanao with moderate to rough seas (1.5 to 2.8 meters). Elsewhere, moderate to strong winds from the Northwest to Southwest with moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 2.5 meters). Carrascalanons receive recognition during Agri-awards 2022 in Butuan City

CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sur -- Emily P. Nimes, owner of Emily Integrated Farm in Barangay Gamuton, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur received a plaque of recognition as 2nd runner up for the Outstanding Rural Women in Agriculture and a cash prize during Agri Awards 2022 at Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City last November 25, 2022.


Spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture (DA), the said activity aimed to encourage women in the country as partners in agriculture development.

Women's distinction and efforts which involve farming and other agri- related initiatives will serve as the foundation for regaining interest in farming and cultivation.

Mrs. Nimes showed her passion shifting from teaching to farming - her first love as a job.

She resigned as a public school teacher and invested her time and money in establishing a diversified farm eventually she collaborated with the local agriculture on some technical input to be in tune with her passion.
