PSA: two LGUs to launch CBMS, 2nd Batch in SurSur

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur – The Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA), Surigao del Sur Provincial Office confirmed that the  Local Government Units of Bislig City and Madrid , all in Surigao del Sur are all set to launch the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) for the second batch which will run until December 16, 2022.

According to Dres, 10 out of 19 lgus have committed to the CBMS implementation in the province. Eight LGUs have already launched the implementation last August of the current year.

It can be recalled that the LGU-Bislig hired 129 personnel intended for CBMS implementation in the city who will do the census of the households. A Press Conference was conducted before the implementation to provide information drive and public awareness.

The census of household activity needs a hundred percent participation from the community in collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data.

Meanwhile, Republic Act (RA) 11315, otherwise known as the "Community-Based Monitoring System" (CBMS) was signed on April 17, 2019, into law.  It is an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data, that may be used for planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring at the local level while empowering communities to participate in the process.
