BUTUAN CITY -- The provincial government of Agusan del Norte extended its services to the neighboring province of Surigao del Sur particularly in the Local Government Unit  of Barobo.

Upon the invitation of Municipal Mayor Joey S. Pama and Municipal Agriculturist Johnny V. Ramos of the Municipality of Barobo in Surigao del Sur, the Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte installed the Rabies Management Information System (RabMIS) in the province and extended training to its municipal animal rabies team last October 13 to 14, 2022 at Barobo Municipal Hall.

Mayor Pama, in his letter to Provincial Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, showed his keen interest of using the system in the Municipality of Barobo for dog registration and dog rabies vaccination record keeping. He added, by using the system, it will become an indispensable tool in their own fight against the deadly, zoonotic rabies disease. Reports generated from the system will be used by the lgu as basis to come up with an informed decision-making of the local rabies program.

Mr. Paul Cupay of the Management Information System (MIS) Division of the Provincial Governor’s Office,  installed the system. While Dr. Joseph P. Dargantes of the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) facilitated the training and immersion of the trainees. (Aimee B. Sienes, LGU Agusan del Norte/PIA Agusan del Norte)
