DOLE Caraga takes part in nationwide tree planting activity

BUTUAN CITY – The employees of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga headed by Regional Director Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao, participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity, which was initiated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) on September 13, 2022.


Anchored on the theme “Buhayin ang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan”, over 7,000 seedlings were planted in 10 planting sites of the region. These include indigenous tree species such as Narra, Camagong and Pili. 

 

The activity aims to preserve, rehabilitate and restore the country’s nature through the collective greening efforts of its stakeholders. Volunteers from the different sectors of the region – public and private also attended the event.

 

As part of the department’s mandate of serving the country, DOLE Caraga is committed to joining initiatives and activities geared towards environmental preservation and sustainability, consistent with the implementation of the Green My DOLE Program. (DOLE-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
