(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Thursday, 05 February 2026) At 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm "BASYANG" {PENHA} was estimated based on all available data at 460 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (8.1°N, 130.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. It is moving West Southwestward at 15 km/h. Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon. Tropical Storm "Basyang" ang makaapekto sa rehiyon sa Caraga.

Tree Planting

A volunteer who carried seedlings going to the planting site in Sitio Malinao in Barangay Bonbon, Butuan City. Despite the sloppy area, he managed to haul and reach one of the planting  sites of the simultaneous nationwide tree planting activity. The seedlings are part of the more than 1,000 seedlings to be planted in the area.

The tree planting activity is in time with the 65th birthday celebration of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr. facilitated by the DILG, DENR and other concerned agencies. (NCLM, PIA-Caraga)
