140 TREs undergo Refresher Training in Basic Hospitality in Cagwait & Tandag City
TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur (Aug 23) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted a refresher training on Basic Hospitality Course on August 22 to 23, 2022 to answer and address the call of the Provincial Government through the Provincial Tourism Office and the Tandag Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated (TCII) to give Refresher Training to hospitality providers in preparation for the forthcoming Mindanao Business Conference 2022 (MinBizCon).
Day 1 of the activity was sponsored by the local government unit of Cagwait,
Surigao del Sur through the Municipal Tourism Office. Some 40
owners/staff/workers of the Tourism Related Establishments (TREs)
actively participated in the training which was held in Cagwait town.
On August 23, some 100 participant members of the Tandag City Hotel and
Restaurant Association (TACHARA) and owners, employees/workers of the TREs successfully
underwent the same training sponsored by the City Government of Tandag
through the City Tourism Office, held at the Pimentel Beach Resort in Tandag
City.
TESDA Provincial Office revealed, that the training covered the following:
* refresher training in customer service / front office service
* Refresher training in housekeeping/ innkeeping, and
* Refresher training in food service with concepts of halal.
Meanwhile, an influx of visitors is expected, as the Tanday City is chosen to
host the prestigious event of the 31st MinBizCon 2022 from August 31 to
September 2, 2022, at the Northeastern Mindanao University (NEMSU) Stadium in
Tandag City. The said activity is organized by the Philippine Chamber of
