(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Wednesday, 04 October 2023) At 3:00 AM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "JENNY" {KOINU} was estimated based on all available data at 275 km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (21.9°N, 124.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 185 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 10 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas. Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur will experience Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon / Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds coming from South to Southwest will prevail with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters).

POPCOM Caraga commemorates Population Day

BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte -- The Commission on Population and Development Caraga joined in the commemoration of the World Population Day (WPD) on July 11, 2022, with the local theme “110 Milyong Solusyon: Tungo sa Pagkamit ng Potensyal ng Bawat Pilipino.”

This year’s celebration of WPD aims to gather and to tap the potentials of the Filipinos who are instrumental towards the country’s attainment of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal. 

In light with the celebration of WPD, POPCOM Caraga, spearheaded by Regional Director Alexander A. Makinano, have lined up activities which include communication campaign to various Regional Line Agencies (RLAs) to consider the following activities: Sharing in their official/personal Facebook account FB posts of POPCOM Central / Regional Office about the WPD celebration, and hanging of streamers with the logo and theme in their offices following the provided template.
