PRO13's security provision preparations for upcoming elections now in full swing
BUTUAN CITY -- The Police Regional Office-13 (PRO-13), is now on guard and ready with all its security preparations for the coming national and local elections on May 9.
PRO-13 Director Police Brigadier General Romeo M. Caramat, Jr. said that the deployment of uniformed personnel to guard and secure vote-counting machines, official ballots, and other elections equipment, supplies, and paraphernalia by COMELEC are now in place.
Regionwide, the 6,886 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel performing election-related functions that COMELEC duly authorizes are now on their respective five provincial hubs, 73 City/Municipal Treasurer's Office, and 1,349 polling centers.
Also, personnel from the Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), are in place to attain a harmonious and safe election supported by the 258 PRO13 police force trained on standby as electoral boards.
"PRO-13 is now ready for the coming Monday elections. As we are in full alert status, Caraga police remain vigilant against any threat that prevents our people from enduring a safe and peaceful 2022 elections through the support and cooperation of the peace-loving Caraganons," Director Caramat, Jr. said.
