Fisherfolk association tapped for milkfish farming project

CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sur -- The local
government unit of Carrascal town in Surigao del Sur has partnered with a local
fisherfolk association to manage its Milkfish Cage Culture Livelihood
Project.
The Dahican Agri-Fishery Integrated Association (DAGFINTEGRAS) was tapped by the LGU to oversee its livelihood program for local fisherfolks and capacitated their members through a 2-day Milkfish Cage Culture Management Training held last February 23-24, 2022, spearheaded by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) in collaboration with the Surigao del Sur Provincial Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Office (PFARO). Association members were trained on the overview of milkfish biology, site preparation, fry selection, feeding management, cage construction, and net mending.
The members of DAGFINTEGRAS expressed their gratitude to the LGU of Carrascal
for their continuous support for the fisherfolks of their municipality and
affirmed their commitment to extend all their efforts for the success of the
operation of the livelihood project entrusted to them. (with a report from
