The awarding of certificates of completion to the FRs and the distribution of food packs highlighted the activity, as they completed their training.

According to Hershey NuΓ±ez of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), of the 145 FRs, 78 have surrendered to the Philippine National Police (PNP) through the Surigao del Sur-Police Provincial Office (SDS-PPO). The other 67 FRs have surrendered to the Philippine Army: 28 FRs surrendered to the 75th Infantry Battalion; 26 FRs surrendered to the 36th Infantry Battalion; and 13 FRs surrendered to the 3rd Special Forces Battalion.

The participants were divided into five batches to ensure the implementation of the minimum health protocols, NuΓ±ez added.

NuΓ±ez further said that the FRs have already received their incentives last year from the Provincial government worth P5,000 each, as well as humanitarian packs.

The said activity is part of the Local Social Integration Program (LSIP) of the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur under the administration of Governor Alexander Pimentel. (NGPB/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
