DSWD Caraga conducts consultation-dialogue to PDI LGUs

BUTUAN CITY -- To ensure that the affected families of Super Typhoon Odette continue to be served, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) conducted consultation-dialogues with the Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI) Congressional Office and the municipal local government units (LGUs) to assess the requests of the LGUs for another round of provision of food and non-food items.

With the assistance of the Emergency Operations Office (EOC) staff through DSWD Field Office Caraga OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes, requests, queries of the LGUs, especially for the provision/augmentation of family food packs and non-food items the affected families were addressed immediately.

ARDO Parajes provided clarifications on pending concerns, especially on the provision of non-food items - the provision of which is based on prioritization of the most affected, and depending on assessment of specific needs of the affected families.

The team also provided assistance to Care International (Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere) personnel who have delivered sacks of rice from the World Food Programme (WFP) to the different LGUs in PDI. (DSWD-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
