(PAGASA 24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST as of Saturday, 12 July 2025) The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Mindanao. FORECAST: The Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. These conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (wave height between 0.6 to 2.1 meters).

Int'l Men's Day celebrated in Caraga 

BUTUAN CITY -- In line with the celebration of the International Men's Day on Friday, November 19, the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM)-Caraga conducted information caravans and other services on Response Parenthood-Family Planning, and Adolescent Health and Development in different parts of the region. 

An educational session on Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya (KATROPA), an initiative of POPCOM, was conducted simultaneously with the local government units (LGUs) of Brgy. Obrero, Butuan City and Buenavista, Agusan del Norte in commemoration of the said event.

Another session was also organized by the LGU of Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte with their barangay leaders and workers. 

The KATROPA sessions provided insights on the role of men in maternal and child care, maternal health and responsible parenting, and how they can become advocates.

Meanwhile, the Surigao del Sur Provincial Population Office also organized a fun run for the male officials and staff of the provincial and city LGUs. (POPCOM-Caraga/MFC/PIA-Caraga)
